To the delight of business owners everywhere, there are no new payroll tax changes taking effect in 2016. For employees who earn under $118,500, the Social Security withholding remains at 6.2%, or 7.1% for employees who earn over $200,000 annually. Also, the Medicare tax withholding has remained unchanged at 1.45%.
